Song of the Day

Ah yes, “Burgh Island” by the talented Ben Howard. This song is something else. The first time I heard was from one of my closest friends back in college and then I heard it again almost a year ago on a Kip Moore Instagram video from LifeinRewind Films. Side note: I am a huge fan of Kip Moore and also his buddy who runs the LifeinRewind films. Check out his stuff, it’s amazing. Back to the song, this song calms me down like no other song I’ve really heard before. At times it took me back to those college days. But now, it reminds me of being home in CA and visiting my sister in San Diego. The guitar sound, the vocals and the arrangement are fantastic. Gotta give my buddy props for introducing me to this song a few years ago. During the hustle and bustle of the week it is easy to get distracted, overwhelmed, stressed, anxious you name it. The list goes on and on. But this song right here is one of my choices to go into therapy mode and just calm it all down. What are some of your go to songs that relax and calm you down? I’m curios to know and always looking for more music! As always, thanks for reading! Give a subscribe if you like what you see and want more of it.

Van the Man

Howdy readers! It’s been awhile. I’ve been busy trying to adapt the heat and humidity here in Austin. But I can’t believe I haven’t really mentioned Van Morrison at all in this blog. I am a big Van Morrison fan. His style, song writing and band is unparalleled. I could go on and on about Van Morrison, his songs, the different meanings and feelings for them all. Perhaps I’ll do that in future posts. But, for right now I recommend you re visit this tune or check it out for the first time. It is a great song that really describes the simple, yet fun times you can have outdoors with a buddy or family. So, as we head into this weekend in the middle of July, get out there, make some memories, or kick back and relax and talk about past ones with friends and family. Either way, it’ll stone you to your soul. Have a good weekend folks!
